Updating to eSupport Version 2.3.5 – Upgrade
It is necessary for you to be using v2.3.5 of eSupport in order to upgrade to version 3. Older versions of v2 cannot be upgraded to version 3 hence it is a requirement to first upgrade your existing version 2 installation to v2.3.5. Incase you are already using eSupport v2.3.5, then you can skip this section and go to the next section – Back Up of Version 2 Database.

Upgrading to v2.3.5 from v2.x

This section contains instructions on how you to upgrade your existing v2 installation to v2.3.5.

Upgrading from v2.3.1 to v2.3.5 Stable

IMPORTANT! Backup BOTH your Database (mysqldump) and your Files before proceeding.
• Replace all your existing files with the new ones in upload_zend/upload_ioncube directory EXCEPT for config.php.
• REMOVE admin/setup.php.
• Make sure BOTH your config.php AND key.php are within the admin directory after you have replaced the files.

Upgrading from v2.2.5 to v2.3.5 Stable

IMPORTANT! Backup BOTH your Database (mysqldump) and your Files before proceeding.
• Replace all your existing files with the new ones in upload_zend/upload_ioncube directory EXCEPT for config.php.
• REMOVE admin/setup.php.
• Make sure BOTH your config.php AND key.php are within the admin directory after you have replaced the files.

Upgrading from v2.2 to v2.3.5 Stable

IMPORTANT! Backup BOTH your Database (mysqldump) and your Files before proceeding.
• Replace all your existing files with the new ones in upload_zend/upload_ioncube directory EXCEPT for config.php.
• REMOVE admin/setup.php.
• Make sure BOTH your config.php AND key.php are within the admin directory after you have replaced the files.
• Upload the file “upgrade_v2.2_to_v2.3.php” from your upgrade directory over to admin directory and run it from your web browser.
• Follow the steps, it should finish without any issues.
• Delete “upgrade_v2.2_to_v2.3.php” from your admin directory.

Upgrading from v2.1.x to v2.3.5 Stable

IMPORTANT! Backup BOTH your Database (mysqldump) and your Files before proceeding.
• Replace all your existing files with the new ones in upload_zend/upload_ioncube directory EXCEPT for config.php.
• REMOVE admin/setup.php
• Make sure BOTH your config.php AND key.php are within the admin directory after you have replaced the files.
• Upload the file “upgrade_v2.1.x_to_v2.3.php” from your upgrade directory over to admin directory and run it from your web browser.
• Follow the steps, it should finish without any issues.
• Delete “upgrade_v2.1.x_to_v2.3.php” from your admin directory.

Downloading eSupport v2.3.5 from the Kayako Members Area

You can download eSupport v2.3.5 from the Kayako Members Area using your members account login information. Assuming you are logged into the Kayako Members Area, you can download eSupport v2.3.5 by clicking on the ‘Version 2‘.
